We are seeking a highly motivated, scientific leader with a deep knowledge of cancer biology and lineage transcription factors, and a demonstrated track record of success in target validation and small molecule drug discovery to join our team in South San Francisco. The successful candidate will enact a leadership role on a multi-disciplinary project team to drive small molecule drug discovery from inception into the clinic. He/she will define the path to drug discovery from target validation through to candidate selection by leveraging internal and external resources. The candidate will be expected to develop strong, collaborative partnerships within the company, with external collaborators, and with CROs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conceive, communicate and execute on multi-disciplinary research strategies for elucidating the mechanistic basis of target dependency to inform targeting modality, and for identifying biomarkers for early patient stratification.
- Co-lead the new target hit identification team to advance new programs to hit-to-lead stage and beyond.
- Closely collaborate with the medicinal chemistry co-lead in the prioritization of new targets entering hit finding, the design and execution of appropriate screening strategies, the validation and triage of screening hits, and the initial SAR exploration around these hits.
- Coordinate research activities and effectively allocate resources between internal staff, external CROs and other external collaborators.
- Keep up to date with the latest scientific advances in technologies and trends in oncology research and development to deliver the next generation of oncology discovery therapies.
- Proactively communicate project strategy, critical issues and recommendations to enable appropriate resource decisions.
- Maintain excellent communication across internal and external team members.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Ph.D. with a focus on cancer biology, developmental biology, or a closely related area of study.
- 8+ years of hands on small molecule drug discovery experience in the oncology therapeutic area in an industry setting.
- Demonstrated success working with external partners.
- Prior experience in transcription factor drug discovery highly desired.
- A strong record of achievement, including publications in high-impact journals and advancing targets into the drug discovery portfolio.
- Leading and mentoring a group of Ph.D. and non-Ph.D. scientists and facilitating their contributions to project teams /research collaborations.

As a Lab Operations Associate, you will work closely with the rest of the Boston site Operations team to support all areas of the business including asset management of lab instrumentation, shipping & receiving, inventory management, vendor management, lab safety and compliance initiatives, and more. This position will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining scalable systems and practices to support the developing culture and daily operations of our rapidly growing R&D teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with Lab Operations team to maintain a tidy and efficient lab setting, providing a customer service experience to the R&D teams.
- Maintain an efficient and organized laboratory supply inventory with support from the Lab Ops and Facilities associates.
- Assist with domestic and international shipping needs between Scorpion sites and/or external parties.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Finance groups to achieve a controlled, compliant ordering process for R&D services and supplies.
- Assist with lab equipment management, maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with oversight of equipment monitoring services and participate in responding to any alarms as needed.
- Coordinate with third party EH&S services to maintain a safe and compliant lab space.
- Communicate regularly with lab employees and research teams to assess overall lab function and identify any unmet needs or deficiencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
- 1+ years related Life Sciences work experience in a biological lab setting, with emphasis on lab and facilities, required.
- Proficient knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures, safety regulations, and chemical hygiene, required.
- Previous lab safety training/experience, required.
- High attention to detail, including a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, as well as the ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

You will be responsible for providing administrative and project support to attorneys and other members of the team. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Be responsible for promptly reviewing, handling and triaging all legal correspondence.
- Assist with tracking and maintaining corporate compliance records.

You’ll deploy in silico techniques to design small molecule therapeutics and you’ll partner with the medicinal chemistry lead to develop hit-to-lead and lead optimization strategies. You’re an integral member of cross-functional project teams to discover quality development candidates by helping define issues, design (virtual) screening and optimization strategies, and drive insights from the integration of experimental, structural, and in silico data. In addition, you’ll identify and incorporate novel approaches in collaboration with the data science team to further enhance our molecular design platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to design novel therapeutics using structure-based and ligand-based approaches like free energy perturbation, molecular dynamics, QSAR, machine learning and others.
- Develop hit-to-lead and lead optimization strategies in partnership with the chemistry project lead.
- Design molecules towards optimal ADME and physicochemical properties, in addition to potency and selectivity, in collaboration with the medicinal chemistry team.
- Contribute to the development of our computational infrastructure by identification and incorporation of novel tools and techniques in collaboration with the data science and broader Scorpion team.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Passionate drug hunter.
- PhD with 6+ years or BS/MS with 12+ years of computational chemistry support in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology environment.
- Demonstrated contributions to the advancement of drug discovery programs through the application of computational chemistry techniques.
- Proficiency with a broad range of computational chemistry techniques, including docking and scoring, molecular dynamics, (cryptic) pocket identification and characterization, FEP, homology modeling, quantum mechanics, QSAR and pharmacophore modeling.
- Extensive experience with data analytics approaches (clustering, matched pair analysis, activity cliff analysis, MPO approaches, data visualization) and tools (e.g. KNIME, Jupyter notebook, PipelinePilot).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Act as a trusted advisor and partner to managers and leaders by proactively gathering market insights and intelligence related to talent and the competitive biopharmaceutical talent landscape.
- Source top biotech talent across all disciplines through multiple channels and build healthy robust pipelines of highest quality candidates on a continuous basis from which we can effectively hire and grow the team.
- Review resumes and interview candidates to determine the appropriateness of skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements across all different disciplines and all levels.
- Ensure consistent and effective communication approaches regarding discovery efforts by providing status updates to all stakeholders through meetings, email updates, weekly, monthly, and quarterly updates.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S./B.A. degree required.
- 8-10 years of successful Sourcing, Recruiting, and Executive Search experience in Pharma/Biotech industry (or equivalent transferrable experience).
- Experience sourcing, building talent pipelines, interviewing, negotiations, closing, and overall candidate relationship management.
- Provide excellent support and effective communication to ensure an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience.
- Ability to build strong, productive relationships with hiring managers, leaders and external vendors.
- Experience managing and prioritizing multiple searches, projects, and client relationships and succeeding in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Independently designing and executing experiments to inform target biology using a variety of approaches, including cell line engineering, analysis of signaling pathways, and characterization of cell proliferation and death mechanism(s).

We are seeking a highly motivated accomplished leader to join our company in our Boston, MA office. This candidate will serve a critical role, responsible for setting and leading the global regulatory strategy and designing and managing all GxP programs and staff to ensure compliance with global laws, regulations and applicable guidance. He/she will be responsible for supporting the Company growth and infrastructure as the portfolio expands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee global regulatory strategy and global regulatory submissions (eg, INDs, CTAs, NDAs, MAAs, meeting requests, and briefing documents) in compliance with all applicable global regulatory requirements and alignment with corporate goals
- Collaborate with research, non-clinical development, CMC and clinical development to develop regulatory strategies which will maximize the value of our assets
- Serve as the primary company contact to the FDA and other competent authorities; Foster a strong relationship, partnership, and advocacy with global regulatory authorities
- Proactively identify regulatory risks to company’s programs and develop risk mitigation plans
- Serve as the company subject matter expert on regulatory trends and guidance’s and keeps company apprised of expected changes to the regulatory landscape affecting existing and future regulatory policies, regulations, and standards

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 15 years of biotech/biopharmaceutical leadership, with a demonstrated record of drug development within the life sciences industry
